Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatically Collected Data
Hosting systems create routine logs, such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to maintain the service and understand usage. Cookies or similar tools can support basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the directory, troubleshoot it, measure overall traffic, and improve the material. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Edinburg Residents Directory links to Hidalgo County and Texas portals, library collections, archives, and outside search services. The policy of the destination service controls any information submitted there. That includes sponsored search results provided by another company.
Parties That May Process Data
Providers that host or support the directory process relevant server-log data for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection, and routine logs are retained only as long as needed for the purposes described here. There are no site accounts, passwords, or user profiles maintained by Edinburg Residents Directory.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided information, and we will remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Eligible Texas consumers may have access, correction, deletion, and opt-out rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Business & Commerce Code ch. 541, subject to that law's scope and exemptions. Because we retain very little, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs, then removing information we find. Use the Contact page to make a request. Texas, Hidalgo County, and City of Edinburg public records are controlled by their custodians, so requests about official records must go to the office that holds them.
Policy Changes
Updates will appear on this page. Continued use after a revised policy is posted indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
